Dooars Travel and an Exciting Road Trip Experience: Murti River, Samsing, Rocky Island, and Suntalekhola

Road Trip Experience

On June 14, 2024, at 9 PM, we started our road trip from Kolkata towards Dooars. At 11 PM, we reached Krishnanagar. Initially, I was driving, but from Mayapur More, my elder brother took over. There were four of us on the trip— my elder brother, younger brother, aunt, and me. I was the most excited because this was my first long-distance road trip. Our destination was Murti Banani Resort in Jalpaiguri, which is under the West Bengal Forest Development Corporation Limited. The distance from Kolkata to Murti Banani Resort is approximately 634 km, taking around 13 hours. At midnight, we crossed the last toll gate in Nadia. The total toll expense for the round trip was around ₹1,600. Around 2 AM, we stopped at Farakka Barrage for tea at a roadside stall. No matter how hot it is, sipping tea always refreshes you.At 6 AM, we reached Dalkhola, and now it was my turn to drive. We stopped midway for breakfast. My mother had packed boiled eggs, potato curry, and parathas, which we enjoyed with tea from a roadside shop. Finally, at 10 AM, we reached Murti Banani Resort.Since we visited during the monsoon, we got to witness the lush green beauty of nature. We stayed at the resort for two days, and the cost for two rooms for four people was ₹12,100. Now, let’s discuss the places we explored.
